The Pavillion is a great place to have a picnic or relax and watch the setting of the sun as the geese play in the pond. This is a covered area with built in benches and picnic tables available. This area is available to our residents for their personal use unless it has been otherwise reserved with Refuge Management.
There is no lifegaurd on duty, so swim at your own risk. The pool overlooks the pond with a fish mosaic at the bottom. Shallow and deep ends to refresh during the warm Outer Banks days. Wooden local lounges to relax during your pool stay. No pets or glass allowed.
There is a ramp leading up to the Bath house. Here you will find separate quarters for men and women. Each room having two showers and three toilets and two sinks for our guest use. We also offer a coin operated laundry facility for your convenience. Trash receptacles are located to the side of the building and we urge you to take advantage of our Recycling Center.
The Pavillion may be reserved for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, wedding receptions, or any other gathering. Contact 252-473-1096 for more information.

You will also find the natural beauty of the Outer Banks here at The Refuge on Roanoke Island.
We have Blackberry Bushes, Fig Trees and Grape Vines to name a few. There are fish in our pond and crabs in the canal.
The perfect place to kayak or canoe the afternoon away. Walk along the sidewalks all the way down the boardwalk to get your afternoon exercise.
From the bathhouse, on a clear day, you can see the Bodie Island Lighthouse and the Bridge that connects Roanoke Island to Nags Head.
Come see us on your next visit to the Outer Banks. We hope you will continue to make us a part of your Family Vacation.
